We’re not your average band.
We worship. We teach. One of us can drive a golf ball three hundred yards. One of us can’t drive at all. Oh, and man we love to play. We’ve come together out of a common love of music and God. For us, playing is its own act of worship, a unique opportunity to give back to God the gifts that have been given to us. It’s just that simple.
When we come to you, it gets a little more complicated. Sometimes we’re just there to play. We write our own stuff and we’re kinda happy about getting to share it. But sometimes it’s more than just a show and we get to teach a little, which is good times too. Our songs come with a bit of backstory and application, so it’s great when we get the chance to explain them a bit. Music and learning? I know, weird. Often when we come we’re there to lead worship, which means you might only get to hear a couple of our songs, if any--but go easy tiger, you’ll be fine. When we lead worship, we’re all about whatever is going to bring everyone closest to God in that time. If that means nothing but polka versions of Sandi Patti songs, so be it. Though we pray each night that it doesn’t come to that.
However we come together, we want to get to know you. Friend us on MySpace, follow us on Twitter, talk to us when we’re out live. The relationships we develop with you are a big part of what drives Purrington. Thanks for caring enough to read all the way to the bottom. You’ve got what it takes, more so than that guy that quit reading at the word “tiger.”
Peace to you!
